Family

This weekend was busy for me. To celebrate my aunt’s sixty-fifth birthday, nearly the entire Hemmenway family got together for a special reunion. I had such a nice time. Being that we do not get to see each other as often as I would like due to schedules and proximity, having two days to laugh, reconnect and share favorite stories was exactly what my spirit needed.

Through my own obstacles, my family has been my rock. During the lowest points, they have stood by my side encouraging me to believe in the unimaginable. I truly believe their faith allowed me to carry on when the world seemed to be void of hope. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for each of them. As you can therefore imagine, I cherish any moment we can all come together. We are a family. No matter what is happening in any of our lives, we will be there for one another offering support, humor, wisdom and love.

For some, family is something we create as we meet people along our life path. For others, family is blood deep. I am lucky to have both – a family that I have chosen who understands when I need to be lifted up, as well as a family bond that is unique and ever sustaining. I just know they will always be there for me.

Whomever you refer to as “your family,” please let them know how much they inspire and mean to you. I am sending healing wishes tonight to all in need.

how lovely! I'm so glad you were able to celebrate such a special time.

I want to say thank you for your inspirational words here Nicole. I am coming up to an anniversary I would rather not have - six years since the beginning of my daily migraine/Myofascial pain syndrome. I'm trying very hard not to let this bring me down. It's so good to click on your site and find encouragement.
